You do posters? Not really — we’re here to re-imagine Care!
Had a great time yesterday at the Care Show in Villa Park, on our new turf in Brum. Our focus this year is building closer relationships in our new community. If you’re doing innovative, forward-thinking, or community-driven work, we want to hear from you. Collaboration is key to reimagining care together.
The event was bustling with passion for the sector, but also highlighted the stresses and strains on care workers. They face high expectations, constant updates to government mandates, and the challenge of delivering complex care needs. These dedicated individuals deserve recognition and support.
Despite the challenges, there were inspiring messages about collective efforts to improve care opportunities. I had some lovely conversations about using design to address major challenges. Design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a framework with tools and processes to tackle big questions.
For example, we’ve addressed social isolation by asking how we can support someone after hospital discharge. We designed a vision and tools for a community-centered approach, rather than a final product. Sometimes, it’s a program, tech solution, or a new care setting. With Open Age, we developed a digital service journey blueprint.
Often asked if we design posters, the answer is yes we can, but we do much more. Posters and other materials to support an idea are part of a larger service experience as we reimagine the care sector. We want to partner with you on your challenges and dreams. Ageable is here to improve lives through design, creating a more inclusive world as we age.
Designing with people is central to our work, and we collaborate with those who have lived experience of daily challenges. Alice and Ageable’s focus is on sharing knowledge with forward-thinking individuals and organisations to help us live well as we age.
Ageable, a Community Interest Company, aims to enhance experiences through design. We bring together creatives, designers, and consultants passionate about care and a radically different landscape of services. Our human-centered, design-led approach supports all collaborations.
We work on any area connected to ageing well, end-of-life, and care, applying creativity and collaboration to solve problems. Our approach involves hands-on research and strategic thinking, ensuring we include everyone in the process.
